šŸŒ» Week 3 ~ Personal Projects

Dear diary and our dear followers šŸ«¶šŸ¼,

šŸŒž The sun is back, after a few days of rain... although the forecast for next week probably won't leave us dry šŸ˜… But that is also life in an eco-community.

šŸ”„ Cold showers and rainy days without sun, but hot tea, great soup, blanket, kind words and long evening conversations or singing by the fire.

āœØIt sounds quite idyllic, doesn't it?āœØ

šŸŒ Being in Hopeland also means getting used to small changes. Especially when it comes to community members. On Sunday, one of the Workaway volunteers was the first person who left this place since we arrived - it was very strange, even if he wasnā€™t with us the whole time. Saying goodbye is very difficult, we'd rather not even think about it yet šŸ„² On the contrary, 4 more members joined our team - the youngest one is only 3 years old ā˜ŗļø. They mainly spend time constructing and in the garden, the only one who is not happy about it is the wild growing weeds šŸ¤£

šŸŖšThe last 2 days felt a bit slower, we are all concentrating fully on our personal projects that we have chosen with the aim of learning something new and also supporting the values and needs of Hopeland.

šŸ› In the meantime, our kitchen team cooks great veggie meals for us, they spoil us with pancakes in the morning, we play football āš½ļø, part of the team goes running, as they are preparing for the half-marathon that is happening in less than 2 weeks in Athens (if you want to join šŸ˜).

šŸ“š On Tuesday, we had an information evening, where we learned about the various options for traineeships, volunteering, with Erasmus+, Workaway, WOOF-ing, we had the opportunity to chat together with those of us who have tried these options... and we are already full of ideas for further adventures āœˆļø.

šŸŒ» On Wednesday, the sun finally peeked out, the energy seems to have returned and our ā€œcourt photographerā€ literally runs around and captures our beautiful little moments of living and working here šŸ“ø.

ā˜ŗļø We hope you will feel them through the photos too.

Sending hugs,

Eyes Wide Open volunteers šŸ«‚
